Tameside Overall

Entry for the 'Tameside Overall' elements of the Whit Friday Brass Band Contest is automatic for all bands that compete at 6 or more Tameside contests.

Who wins ?

  • Each each band is scored out of a maximum 200pts at each contest they play.

  • Each contest will work out their rankings accordingly (highest score places in position 1 and so on).

  • The band with the lowest total sum of their 6 best rankings will place 1st overall and so on.

  • For example if a band played 10 venues placing as follows 1,1,3,1,3,2,1,2,1,1 their best 6 rankings are taken forward, resulting in a score of 6 (1 x 6). The 4 lower rankings are discarded.

  • In the event of a tie, the band with the highest combined points score from their 6 best rankings would win.

Tameside Open Champions (The Tameside Rose Bowl Trophy)
