Tameside Whit Friday Brass Band Contest

The Top Mossley contest is held at Mossley AFC's ground, Seel Park, on Market Street, which is renowned for its striking views as the backdrop to the bands performing. The contests have been hosted in Top Mossley since 1920 and this will be the fifth year the contest has been held at Seel Park. Last year we welcomed 40 bands to our contest. First registration is 15:45 and final registration at 23:00, with bands continuing to play until 23:45. 
 
We operate a team of parking stewards who will direct the coaches to park on Market Street in a one-way system, and exit along Wyre Street back towards the market place. Band registration is directly through the gates/entrance to Seel Park in the carpark area which also hosts several excellent food and drink vendors, along with the football club's own catering hut inside the ground and clubhouse licensed bar, serving soft and alcoholic drinks. We offer a huge community welcome to all our bands and spectators, as the football club is often at the heart of our town, bringing people together. 
 
There is a large sheltered seated area inside the ground, and plenty of elevated room on the terraces to watch the bands perform from a stage on the football pitch. We can also accommodate disabled spectators, and our team of stewards will try to support any individual requests where possible. Our adjudicator for the 2nd year running is Alan Duguid.
