Notes from the President of the BBBA 

 

 

I’m delighted to welcome you all, once again, to our fantastic venue at Ashton Rugby Club for 2025’s Whit Friday Brass Band Contest.

 

I can’t believe it's been a year since we were last all together to enjoy an evening of brilliant entertainment from our bands, and I’m very excited for what promises to be just as good an evening tonight!

 

I’m very proud that we continue to evolve the Broadoak contest, maintaining the rich history of this contest by keeping the name of the original venue, whilst reinventing the event itself with a continued evolution of the venue, the facilities and the wider support to the event itself. As always, a big thanks to the committee, and everyone involved with Ashton Rugby Club, for their tireless work all year round to make the event a success - far more goes into this event than you see on the night itself!

 

But the effort of our hard working volunteers is only as good as the turnout we get on the night, and so the biggest thank you goes to you - our ever reliable audience - for your dedicated participation and support year in, year out. Whether this is your first time joining us, or you’re a stalwart of the Broadoak contest, I hope you have a wonderful evening and continue to visit us for many years to come.
